Crumb makes me laugh

Crumb looks like he's saying his prayers! :D

He folded his little hands accidentally when we were putting him back in his cage after holding him and he wouldn't let go of Chases finger so he had to gently shake him off and he just fell onto the volcano with his fingers laced together.  SO cute!  (yes, I will love my children more than Crumb...but only slightly.)

Happy Thanksgiving 2009!

For Thanksgiving this year Chase and I were in SLC with my parents and my brother.  My other brother couldn't be there and we missed Chases family.  It was Chases first Thanksgiving away from his family so I think it was hard for him and probably for his parents also.  If you ever read this Nortons, we were thinking of you all day and are very grateful for you.

Despite the missing of missing family members it was a fun day.  We got to sleep in (always enjoyable) then we went to my parents around noon and I helped my mom finish getting the food ready while Chase and my brother played xbox and my dad watched.  Then we ate some DELICIOUS Thanksgiving food.  Nothing too out-of-the-ordinary, which is how we like it! turkey, homemade mashed potaoes, gravy, stuffing, yams, cranberry sauce, rolls, the usual.  Then we had apple pie ALAMODE! (You add ice cream to anything and it's magically better than it was a second ago.)

my family has this tradition every year of going around the table and saying what we're thankful for but along with the alphabet. Maybe not the most original tradition but it's fun. :) Some things that were mentioned:
- germs because they build up our immune system
- umbrellas because they keep rain off of us
- xylaphone because nothing else starts with "X"
- Rachel because I was sitting right there
- Eggs because they are good
- Transportation so we can visit family in Price
- Farts because they are funny
the list went on.

THEN we went and saw The Invention of Lying (it was alright...Ricky Gervais is always funny) Then we played cranium (the only board game Chase can stand to play) then we played some Left 4 Dead (yes, my mom chose to play!) then we played some catch phrase.  It was all very fun. :)

You see where I get it from...

My mom playing Left 4 Dead with Chase. She's so cute haha!

heading out to the movie! My dad fell victim to the infamous turkey-day
afternoon nap so he missed out.

I get very intense when playing catch phrase...as you can tell...

This is the story of a lizard and his leash

Last night Chase and I went to Petsmart (what a clever name! It could be Pets Mart or Pet Smart!) to get Crumb MORE crickets. We did our usual bit...look at the hatchling beardies, count them, do the math to see how much it would cost to buy them all, realize it's too much, move on to the birds, see bird getting bullied, decide to rescue the bird, do the math to see how much it would cost to buy bird with all necessary bird accessories, realize it's too much, move on to cats, connect with tortie named Bert, realize how much a cat would stink up tiny apartment, move on to fish, realize they eat eachother, move on (a little less joyfully) to getting the crickets.

Once we have the crickets we decide to take a walk down the isle of beardie accessories and what do we see??? Only the most cutest, most functionalist, most creative-ist reptile invention known to man and well, reptile!!

A lizard leash.

I make it sound like it's the first time we had seen one but it's not. Chase has been drooling over it ever since we first brought Crumb home. But he was waaaaay to small for it at first so he patiently waited until last night when it just seemed to call out to him. So we bought it.

It's a bit big on him still but he'll grow into it and, oh yeah, he HATES it. He's usually so chill about everything we really didn't expect him to have any feelings about it one way or the other. I think I thought we could just put it on him and he wouldn't even notice really. But that was not the case...  The first time we were putting it on him he was very cooperative but once we got it on him...whooeee! He went NUTS!!! It was like he was trying to run away from it.  You can see him on his hind legs in the bottom picture.  It didn't look like it was choking him or anything though so we're still going to put it on him.  It will come in handy when he wants to be out of the cage but is a little too crazy for us to handle. Especially when there is only one of us with him. It was very cute but it DID look a little unnatural.

oh yeah and he loves the computer! Whenever I have it on, no matter how comfortable we think he is where we have put him, he will scramble right on to the computer and snuggle up with the screen. It must be emitting just enough warmth haha!

Here are a couple of pictures to show you how much he's grown! He used to have to climb to the top of his thermostat.  Now he can just stand up. :)

And here is Crumb giving Chase a kiss. Because lizards kiss their owners all the time!

help

Hello all.

I want to change up my blog, add some pictures, get a new template, change up the colors. But I don't know how to get a new template except to look at bloggers templates and they only have like 5 or so...where do you find templates??

and how do you add pictures at the top where your title is?

and also, how do you add pics on the side of your blog?

if anyone has any idea, let me know. :)
